Financial Aid for Medical Transcription Training

Federal Student Aid in the form of grants, subsidized, and unsubsidized loans is generally available to all accredited institutions of higher learning, no matter where they are located. The amount a person is eligible for will vary based on the previous year’s tax returns. Scholarships are also usually available, though the requirements will differ depending upon the type of scholarship. For need-based scholarships, a student must demonstrate financial hardship; for merit-based, grades are a factor. Other scholarships are available based on factors such as race, religion, gender, or major. The student pursuing transcription training should check with the institution of study to determine what his or her financial aid options might be.
